U.S. cities that are leading on climate change initiatives

Houston, Miami and Los Angeles are among the five cities that are leading the way when it comes to climate change and extreme weather initiatives, according to a Center for American Progress report. Houston has launched an initiative designed to enhance its water and drainage infrastructure, while Los Angeles plans to combat extreme temperatures by promoting cool roofs and pavements. Houston's drainage project "will create infrastructure jobs and protect Houston properties and businesses from damages from future storms," the report says.
