Wireless service deal reached for Boston's Big Dig tunnels

The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority has reached an agreement with four wireless carriers on the cost of providing mobile-phone service within Big Dig tunnels. Cingular Wireless, Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless will share the project's costs, including an initial access fee of $1.57 million and an annual fee of $140,000 per carrier.
