Almond consumption is set to exceed record levels

Blue Diamond Growers is seeing increased demand for California-grown almonds, and expects consumption to reach a record 1.6 billion pounds, said Mark Jansen, president and chief executive officer. The company says annual U.S. consumption of almonds has grown 39% since 2008, and exports to India, China and the Middle East have also seen double-digit growth.
