GOP lawmakers to rein in climate rules, EPA regulatory proposals

The Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to rein in both climate legislation and the Environmental Protection Agency's proposals to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions. "Unquestionably, there will be more oversight of the EPA," said Roger Patrick, an environmental lawyer. Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., who wants to chair the House's Energy and Commerce Committee, wrote in an opinion piece, "If the EPA continues unabated, jobs will be shipped to China and India as energy costs skyrocket."
