Tight control of glucose may not curb heart risk in diabetes

Intensive glucose control did not fare better than standard care in cutting heart failure risk among patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study in the American Heart Journal. However, those who were on thiazolidinedione treatment and tight glucose control appeared to have increased risk of heart failure, experts noted.
