Analysts see end-of-year decline in OT market after first-half highs

The market for optical networking equipment, which has been characterized by extreme volatility, is unlikely to experience the high levels of growth seen in early 2013, analysts say, citing a decline in capital spending by Tier 1 carriers. "Capex was so strong in the first and second quarters of 2013, it's unreasonable to anticipate a big flush in the fourth quarter, especially in North America," said Andrew Schmitt of Infonetics Research.
