How one Wis. school is modeling sustainability in facilities, programs

Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wis., has implemented two initiatives focusing on the trend of sustainable facilities on campus, college President Lee Rasch writes in this blog post. Rasch outlines how the school has evolved degrees and developed projects around Passive House construction, building homes that reduce energy consumption by 80%. In another initiative, the college bought a nearby dam and will offer hydro-technology courses in 2014, as the restored dam begins to generate power next month to provide revenue for the program.
