Mexico is climbing global ranks for food processing

Mexico ranked 15th in the world among top food-producing countries in 2011, with a production value of almost $120 million. The industry expanded by an average of more than 5% from 2005 to 2010, and the country's growth rate is expected to exceed 6% by 2020. Mexico's food exports increased 32.4% from 2010 to 2011, and the U.S. is Mexico's largest customer for exported foodstuffs, consuming 71%.
