Musician-engineers take audience participation to a new level

A team of musically inclined engineers demonstrated a unique instrument this summer that makes music through motion. The so-called Treequencer developed by North Street Labs is a giant metal sculpture laden with motion sensors that converts data into music and can be played by having people dance around it.
