What are the obstacles to mobile technology in schools?

Given the hype surrounding the introduction of mobile technology -- such as iPads -- in the classroom, it would appear the only downside would be the cost of the devices, author Matthew Lynch writes. However, he notes in this blog post that school districts often fail to take into consideration the cost of software, support and professional development when purchasing mobile technology, and suggests that cost may not be the only potential obstacle.
