Obama plans extensive economic recovery package

President-elect Barack Obama has indicated that he will support an extensive spending plan and tax cuts as part of an effort to revive the U.S. economy. The two-year stimulus plan, which Obama hopes will become law by Jan. 20, will aim to save or create 2.5 million jobs. "We'll be working out the details in the weeks ahead, but it will be a two-year, nationwide effort to jump-start job creation in America and lay the foundation for a strong and growing economy," Obama said.
