Chemist is recognized for molecular-imaging research

Amy Kallmerten, a chemist from Gilford, N.H., has received the 2009 M.J. Collins Award for technological innovation in recognition of her work in the field of molecular imaging. Her research focused on the use of microwave technology in the development of drugs for PET imaging. Her work has the potential to improve the early diagnosis of cancers and neurological conditions, including Alzheimer's disease.
