The Culinary Union blamed Station Casinos' $5.7 billion buyout by management as a culprit in the company's bankruptcy. The union issued a report on the buyout, which concluded that company insiders received more than $66O million in profits from the transaction. The union issued the report as part of a strategy to organize the 13,000 workers at the non-union casino. Station spokeswoman Lori Nelson dismissed the report as "just more of the same corporate harassment by the Culinary Union leadership that has been going on for years due to their frustration over not being able to persuade our employees to join the union."
