General aviation supports economy, former AOPA exec says

Some residents are criticizing the Alexander Salamon Airport in Adams County, Ohio, for receiving $807,187 in federal grants for the last five years. However, aviation experts defend federal funding of small airports. "General aviation, not the airlines, just general aviation, supports our economy by about $150 billion a year," said Phil Boyer, the past president of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
