Diabetes, depression can be a vicious cycle, study finds

A 10-year study of 55,000 female nurses found that those who suffered from depression were 17% more likely to develop diabetes, while those with diabetes had a 29% increased risk of depression. The findings suggest that the two conditions can create a "vicious cycle" and underscore the importance of primary prevention, a study co-author said.
