Fed sees high unemployment lasting longer than expected

More than 10 million Americans will be unemployed when the next national election happens in 2012, according to a forecast from the Federal Reserve. The central bank predicted that joblessness will decline from 9.6% to about 9% by the end of next year and to about 8% by the end of 2012.
