Hospital patient-safety initiative saves lives and money

About 157 facilities reported saving $2.13 billion in costs and 22,164 lives within two years under Premier alliance's QUEST High Performing Hospitals initiative. Participants in the patient-safety program employ Premier's Perspectives hospital database to determine key factors that contribute to high costs, deaths and errors, as well as those tied to better patient care.
