U.K. court affirms VAT for fruit drink

A British court has sided with the government, confirming that fruit drinks are subject to taxation, even though fruit is exempt because it is considered "essential." Innocent, a company partly owned by Coca-Cola, had argued that its smoothies were fruit in liquid form, and should not be subject to VAT rules.
