GE Aviation adds additive manufacturing

Additive manufacturing is the objective with GE Aviation's acquisition of Morris Technologies and its sister company Rapid Quality Manufacturing, both of which GE has under current contract. Additive manufacturing is based on digital design, using horizontal cross sections to gradually build up a component while minimizing waste. The new acquisitions will enable GE to step up its engineering and manufacturing capabilities in anticipation of increased orders for jet engines over the next few years.
