Tablet market is becoming more competitive in schools

The iPad has dominated the tablet market in education, but several competitors have begun to erode Apple's position, including Google, which recently launched the Google Play for Education application store. School officials are faced with comparing the various options, prices and capabilities to determine which product will best meet district needs. "It's not about the device; it's about transforming learning," said Keith Bockwoldt, director of technology services in an Illinois district.
