Obama mulls short list for secretary of education

President-elect Barack Obama reportedly is considering a range of candidates for the country's top education post, according to Democratic and transition officials. The list consists of former secretary of state Colin Powell, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, Chicago schools chief executive officer Arne Duncan, former South Carolina schools superintendent Inez Tenenbaum and Stanford University education professor Linda Darling-Hammond.
