With bandwidth caps possibly becoming a common practice among ISPs, marketers should make strategic investments in social media, including bloggers and users of Twitter, to bolster relationships with existing customers and brand ambassadors. "Marketers should be proactive and invest in strategic efforts that target relationships with high-value advocates, building organic growth rather than reacting to an environment impacted by a bandwidth shortage," Nielsen Online analyst Brandon Eshman writes.
