U.S. teams with Brazil to expedite research into cellulosic ethanol

The U.S. National Renewable Energy Lab and the research arm of Brazil-based Petrobras will broaden its partnership with a deal aimed at accelerating scientific work on cellulosic biofuels, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer and Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim said at a conference. The two countries also plan to spend $4.3 million for biofuel initiatives in five countries in the Caribbean, Central America and Africa.
