Vermont, Maine are leaders in curbing runoff

New regulations in place in Maine and Vermont aim to reduce the amount of storm-water runoff that flows into streams and other water bodies. The rules will affect existing commercial and residential developments as well as new projects and construction sites. In some cases, they require property owners to install grassy areas to absorb runoff.
