Researchers introduce a more sensitive robot arm

Engineers in Germany have developed a robotic arm that mimics the movements of an elephant's trunk and has three flexible fingerlike grasping tips at the end that can pick up objects. Dubbed the Bionic Handling Assistant, the robot arm incorporates resistance sensors that enable it gauge the force of its touch, making it safe for human interaction.
