Calif. changes course for spring common core exams

California has decided to include nearly all students in spring English and math common core assessments. The state had planned to test only some students in English, and others in math, but not in both subjects. "The motivator was that we heard from a lot of districts and school officials and teachers that they wanted to see both halves of the test," state Chief Deputy Superintendent Richard Zeiger said.
