Calif. students' art honors local Southeast Asian communities

Students at McLane High School in Fresno, Calif., are wrapping up a 16-month art project that shares the personal stories of the area's Southeast Asian community. "Stories of Home: The Southeast Asian Story Project" is an effort by English and art classes and includes 40 2D and 3D paintings, sculptures and more. Students studied cultures and sometimes their own families to create works of art about the Hmong, Laotian, Cambodian and Vietnamese people in the community.
