Explosion occurs at Sinopec oil pipeline in eastern China, killing 35

An explosion Friday at a Sinopec underground oil pipeline in eastern China killed 35 people, disrupting crude oil flows into China and stopping operations at the Qingdao oil import terminal. "Early investigations showed the spilled oil flowed into the municipal grid, which caused the explosion," officials said. Chinese President Xi Jinping urged local officials to "spare no effort to rescue the injured and strengthen safety to eradicate such incidents."
