Pairing of wind and natural gas sectors shows potential

Wind and natural gas as energy resources working together on the grid could be a good match, Amy Harder writes, and some energy experts agree. When wind is blowing and wind facilities are at full capacity, energy from the gas-powered plants can be toned down, and wind facilities help power plants because it has zero emissions and helps power companies be less dependent on gas. In addition, a recent meeting between the new presidents of the American Wind Energy Association and America's Natural Gas Alliance point to cooperation between the two sectors.
