Qualcomm will give Samsung phone a GPS trifecta with China deal

Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Note 3 will become the first smartphone to incorporate the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System from China following Qualcomm's addition of the constellation in its IZat location tools. The technology will provide the phone with three GPS trackers, including a pair from the U.S. and Russia, Qualcomm disclosed. Also at Qualcomm, the company will test an LTE-Advanced modem chip, Gobi 9x35, which will support carrier aggregation to allow download speeds up to 300 megabits per second.
