Researchers develop a textile battery

In the future, batteries may be worn in garments such as winter clothing, thanks to cells using a polyester yarn coated with nickel and polyurethane developed by researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The batteries, which can be recharged with lightweight solar cells, are reported to perform as well as conventional foil-based cells.
