Roof of Minnesota Vikings stadium to use imported building materials

The roof of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium will use building materials from outside the state and the country to ensure that the project complies with design requirements, according to these reports. Those materials include Grade 65 steel from Luxembourg for long-span roof beams, according to John Wood, senior vice president of Mortenson Construction, the project's contractor. Glass roof panels will also be sourced from outside the state to meet technical specifications, said Michele Kelm-Helgen, chairwoman of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority.
