Senate bill aims to remove tax incentives for fossil fuels

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., on Thursday proposed a bill to slash $100 billion in tax incentives for fossil fuels over a decade. "At a time when fossil fuel companies are racking up record profits, it is time to end the absurdity of American taxpayers providing massive subsidies to these hugely profitable fossil fuel corporations," Sanders said. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said Democrats are targeting "the very sectors our nation relies on for economic growth."
