Be informed about food safety

The administrator of the USDA's Food Safety Inspection Service cautions Americans to remain vigilant about cooking meats to proper temperatures and washing cooking surfaces and hands to minimize the threat of food-borne disease. While there is an increased terrorist threat to the nation's food supply, the government maintains people are more likely to become ill from improper food handling than from the food supply being tampered with.
