British police deploy anti-explosive equipment in school drug searches

In Kent, England, police are using an Ion Track Tester, equipment originally designed to detect explosives at airports, and sniffer dogs in searches of desks, lockers, classrooms and school buses for drugs. The Ion Track Tester can analyze swabs taken from surfaces or objects for the presence of illegal drugs within five seconds.
