High schools in Fargo, N.D. are joining a tiny but growing movement to use hand-held devices enabling students to punch in answers to multiple choice questions projected on a screen. Teachers and students say the Personal Response System encourages classroom discussion and provides an instant assessment of the students' comprehension of material.
