Online retailers pump up promotions for Cyber Monday:

Today is Cyber Monday, when 72% of online merchants will launch holiday sales in a virtual version of Black Friday. The Monday after Thanksgiving provides the first increase in Internet holiday spending, and Cyber Monday online sales hit $608 million in 2006, according to comScore. "This year, promotions on Cyber Monday are extremely competitive as online retailers use an assortment of one-day specials to send shoppers online," said Scott Silverman, executive director of Shop.org.
