IAEA chief criticizes U.S. over Syria's nuclear plan

Critical of the U.S. because it claimed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency and chief nuclear inspector for the United Nations, urged caution Tuesday about judging Syria's nuclear intent. Syria, which wants to build a nuclear-power plant, was sanctioned by the U.N. two years ago for failing to curtail nuclear activities.
