Ivory Coast battles new river blindness risks

Black flies have returned in large numbers to the Kossou Dam area of the Ivory Coast, increasing the chances of a resurgence of river blindness in the area. While the disease has been almost eradicated globally, recent war and the damage it caused to the country's health system have increased the likelihood of new outbreaks.
