The media has a positive influence on the public's perception of the nursing profession, even if the portrayal of nurses on TV is not exactly accurate. People who watched shows like "Scrubs" and "ER" were more likely to recommend nursing or medicine as a career, and news stories about nurses helping out during disasters also had a positive impact, the study found.
