Scientists hope Obama will jump-start stem cell research

President-elect Barack Obama vowed during his campaign to overturn funding limits on human-embryo research with an executive order. "The biopharmaceutical industry has been skittish about making investment in this kind of research. An executive order would give the signal that it's acceptable" to do research in this field, said Mary Hendrix, a stem cell scientist. But questions about Obama's intentions remain.
