Big jewelers poised for bright holiday

Large jewelry chains that survived the recession are likely to see a payoff for their staying power this season. With competition seriously smaller than last year -- 1,500 mom-and-pop jewelers closed their doors during the downturn -- larger chains expect to attract more of the customers shopping for baubles and bangles.
