Colorado considers mandatory immigration checks

Businesses in Colorado could soon be required to check their employees' immigration status against a federal database to weed out illegal immigrants. The plan, proposed by Republican lawmakers, would make using the system -- currently voluntary in all but two states -- a mandatory requirement for all Colorado employers.
