NBCT pledge is paying off for educators at a California school

Three more teachers have earned National Board Certification at a California elementary school where all teachers pledged to go through the rigorous application process. That makes nine NBCTs at Desert Hot Spring's Julius Corsini Elementary School -- more than any other school in the region. Newly certified teacher Barry Wissman said the board-certification process required "reflecting on practices, what you're doing, why you're doing it," and has helped him become a better teacher.
