Norway prototypes world's first osmotic power plant

Norway opened the world's first osmotic power plant this week as a prototype. The Statkraft plant produces carbon-free electricity by mixing fresh water and seawater through a membrane. The prototype plant will produce no more than 4 kilowatts of energy but will allow the state-owned utility to refine the process.
