Report: First U.S. occupancy improvements expected in 2011

Hotel occupancies in the U.S. should begin to recover in 2011, according to a new forecast from Smith Travel Research. Demand should increase by 3.2% in 2011, resulting in a 2.4% increase in occupancy, a 3% increase in the average daily rate and a 5.5% increase in revenue per available room, the research company said.
