CFTC swap rules will be proposed at a public hearing Wednesday

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said it will announce proposed rules governing swap trading at a public hearing Wednesday. The rule would determine which companies dealing in swaps would be subject to increased margin and capital requirements, the CFTC said. The Dodd-Frank Act gave the commission responsibility for regulating the over-the-counter derivatives market.
