Study: Feds help accelerate adoption of green building

Governments that have green-procurement policies or green-building mandates can help accelerate the adoption of green-building practices, according to research by Timothy Simcoe and Michael Toffel. "Committing in advance to build green does have spillover effects for private adoption green-building practices, for both the supply of inputs such as contractors and the demand for buildings that are measurably green," said Toffel.
