Arbitrator: University of N.H. lacked just cause for professor's termination

The University of New Hampshire did not have just cause for ending the employment of a Spanish professor who admitted to altering a colleague's student-evaluation scores, according to an independent arbitrator. The arbitrator remanded the issue to the university and the union for the school's tenure-track faculty for disposition. "What the arbitrator did was a little unusual," said Deanna Wood, the union's chapter president.
