Comcast will start charging "Broadcast TV Fee" in 2014

Comcast is the latest cabler to impose a separate "Broadcast TV Fee" on its customers. Comcast on Jan. 1 will add a $1.50-a-month fee to the bills for its customers in the Heartland Region, which includes Michigan, Indiana and Arkansas, and roll it out elsewhere throughout the year. Charter Communications, AT&T U-Verse and MidContinent Cable are among the other pay-TV providers charging a similar fee.
